Stafford County Lunatic Asylum was built in 1818, originally to house up to 120 patients. After a couple of expansions, it accommodated up to 870 patients and had a laundry block and nurse accommodation. In 1950s, it was renamed as St George's Hospital and ultimately closed in 1995.
After being left derelict for over 20 years, the main building was converted to apartments called St George's Mansion.
スタッフォード精神病院は1818年に建てられ、当時は患者120名まで収容できる規模でした。その後何度か増築がなされ、最大870名患者を収容できるだけでなく、洗濯施設や看護師寮等も併設されていたそうです。1950年代に聖ジョージ病院へ改名され、1995年に閉鎖されました。
閉鎖後20年以上放置されていましたが、どうやら聖ジョージ・マンションという高級アパートに改築されたようです。
