Wanli UFO Village (FUTURO) / UFOハウス

Wanli UFO Village is a semi-abandoned resort village by the beach called Green Bay (翡翠灣). It had an eerie feeling as dozens of UFO pods were lining up on the deserted street. The beautiful beach, which was apparently still a tourist destination, further emphasized the contrast between bright and gloomy.
The UFO pods, prifabricated houses called Futuro (round) and Venturo (elliptical), were invented by the Finnish architect Matti Suuronen and marketed across the world in late 60s and early 70s. They had short lives and went out of the market in mid-70s.
Wanli Village was not completely abandoned and some houses were still in use, although I doubt anyone actually lived there. They were probably used as a vacation house. All of Futuro houses were abandoned while some Venturo seemed still in use.
There was an abandoned resort hotel nearby - reports in below.
UFOハウス(萬里飛碟屋)は翡翠灣沿いにあるUFO型プレハブ住宅街の廃墟です。廃れた通りにUFOがたくさん並んでいるだけで奇妙なのですが、綺麗なビーチ沿いにあることが更に異空間さを際立てています。
UFOハウスの正式名はFuturo（丸形）とVenturo（楕円形）で、フィンランドの建築家マット・スーロネンによって設計されました。世界中で60年代後半から70年代前半にかけて販売されたようですが、70年代半ばには生産停止となり、世界中で建てられたFuturoの数は100にも満たなかったそう。
萬里のUFO村は完全に廃墟ではなく、一部の建物は現役で使用されています。ただ、住宅としてというよりかは別荘として使われている様子でした。現役使用されているVenturoはいくつかありましたが、Fururoは全て廃墟のようで、やはり丸形の家は住みづらかったでしょうか...。
近くにお城のようなリゾートホテルの廃墟もあります。（写真は最下部に）

Pacific Resort Green Bay
Abandoned resort hotel near UFO village. Apparently not accessible, though inside pictures can be found on some reports so maybe not completely off-limit. A bigger, newer resort hotel with the same name stands across the street, which would make this abandoned castle-like hotel older one.
UFOハウスの近くにある廃リゾートホテル。中には入れないようでしたが、内部写真を載せてるレポートもあったので完全に入れない訳ではないのかも。目の前により同じような名前の新しくて（それでも年季がある）大きなリゾートホテルが立っていたので、恐らくそちらに移転して放置された模様。
Essex County Jail /エセックス郡刑務所

Essex County Jail was originally built in 1837 and closed in 1971 when a new jail was completed.
The reason why I only have a small number of pictures from this place is that this former jail was widely known to be a shelter for homeless drug addicts. I originally planned to visit there a few years back but gave up then, because its stories & reports (bunch of used needles scattered around etc) scared me. I was still scared when I finally plucked up courage to visit there and did not enter any of the cells, which now feel like a complete waste of a great opportunity...
エセックス郡刑務所は1837年に建てられ、1971年に新しい刑務所が作られたため閉鎖されました。
写真が非常に少ないのですが、その理由はこの場所が薬物中毒者やホームレスの住み家として有名であまり長居できなかったからです。数年前にも訪問計画を立てたことがありましたが、ネット上で色んな話（使用済み注射が大量に落ちている等）を見てビビッて諦めてしまいました。今回勇気を出しましたが、結局恐怖心があったため監房にすら入らず短時間で探検終了。人生最初で最後になるかもしれない刑務所の廃墟なのに、今思えば非常にもったいない。
